ST BRAIN PRO
ST BRAIN PRO is the digital brain of the vessel – the foundation for sustainable, safe, and efficient sailing. This compact, certified unit collects real-time data from nautical equipment such as radar, engines, cameras, and sensors, and instantly visualises it in the online ST Dashboard. This gives access to insights such as Fleet View, Ship View, Operational Reporting, and incident reconstructions.
From Fleet View and Ship View to operational reports and incident reconstructions – ST BRAIN PRO makes data actionable, on board and ashore. It also serves as a platform for smart applications such as the AI Track Pilot (ST SAILING) and Collision Detection – operating entirely locally and without an internet connection.
Benefits
Prepare your vessel for the next step towards autonomous sailing.

ST BRAIN LITE
ST BRAIN Lite is an accessible solution for vessels and organisations looking to take the first step towards data driven operations. The system collects vessel data, cargo data and GPS data, making it instantly available through the ST Dashboard.
This gives users access to Fleet View, Ship View, Cargo View, basic emissions reporting and automated data sharing with charterers, operators and supply chain partners.
ST BRAIN Lite has been developed for customers who need reliable data and connectivity, but do not necessarily require extensive installation work or full integration with onboard systems. It is particularly suitable for older vessels, smaller shipping companies, dry cargo vessels, private vessel owners, and operators and charterers who want greater visibility into the vessels they manage or hire.
The hardware is compact and easy to install. In many cases, installation can be carried out by the customer or their own electrician. This makes onboard digitalisation faster, more scalable and more accessible.

ST SAILING
ST SAILING helps inland shipping operate more safely, efficiently, and with reduced workload. The module combines two powerful applications: Autonomous Lane Assist (ALA) and Collision Detection.
ALA is an advanced AI track pilot that automatically maintains course and performs smart route planning based on navigational information. Collision Detection provides timely alerts for potential collisions with vessels, groynes, and other obstacles on the river. Both systems operate entirely locally, without an internet connection – specifically developed for the daily activities of inland shipping.
ST SAILING forms the foundation for further automation on board. The following steps are already being tested:
- Just-In-Time Sailing: integration with engine management to automatically determine the ideal speed based on destination and arrival time. This delivers immediate savings in fuel consumption and emission reduction.
- Autonomous manoeuvring: tests for autonomous docking and undocking have started in collaboration with Scylla and Retina – another step towards fully autonomous sailing.
ST SAILING supports the crew on board, enhances safety, and is ready for the next steps in autonomous sailing.

ST SAILING PRO
ST SAILING PRO takes the next step towards autonomous sailing. Shipping Technology is the first company in inland shipping to bring automated route planning, steering, propulsion control and the desired arrival time together in one integrated system. ST BRAIN PRO and ST SAILING provide the technical foundation.
With Just in Time Sailing, the skipper enters the destination and desired arrival time. ST SAILING PRO then continuously calculates how the vessel should sail and how much engine power is required. If the vessel needs to increase speed to arrive on time, the system automatically adjusts the engine speed. If more time is available, the vessel can sail more steadily and efficiently.
Route planning, steering and propulsion work together automatically. This results in a steadier engine speed, greater comfort on board and more efficient use of engine power. The skipper always retains full control and can intervene immediately at any time. ST SAILING PRO therefore falls within CCR automation level 2: partial automation.
ST SAILING PRO will be further expanded with:
- Eco mode: selects the most efficient way to reach the destination at the desired time.
- Adaptive Speed: automatically adjusts speed and distance based on vessels ahead and conditions on the river.

ST CONNECT
ST CONNECT automates the exchange of vessel data with external systems. From planning and maintenance to emission reporting and customer dashboards – all data is continuously and directly transferred, without manual entry on board or ashore.
This prevents errors and saves time – all fully under your own control. ST CONNECT already offers integrations with Marad, Cofano, UAB Online, Green Award, Inosys, and ICT Logistics. New integrations can be activated easily and are ready for immediate use.
