ST SAILING

ST SAILING helps inland shipping operate more safely, efficiently, and with reduced workload. The module combines two powerful applications: Autonomous Lane Assist (ALA) and Collision Detection.

ALA is an advanced AI track pilot that automatically maintains course and performs smart route planning based on navigational information. Collision Detection provides timely alerts for potential collisions with vessels, groynes, and other obstacles on the river. Both systems operate entirely locally, without an internet connection – specifically developed for the daily activities of inland shipping.

ST SAILING forms the foundation for further automation on board. The following steps are already being tested:

  • Just-In-Time Sailing: integration with engine management to automatically determine the ideal speed based on destination and arrival time. This delivers immediate savings in fuel consumption and emission reduction.
  • Autonomous manoeuvring: tests for autonomous docking and undocking have started in collaboration with Scylla and Retina – another step towards fully autonomous sailing.
